Copper traces on both sides with or without plated through-holes. FR-4 Tg 150 °C / 170 °C. The workhorse board type for industrial controls, SMPS, communication, and mid-density designs.
Understanding the Difference
Both variants have copper traces on the top and bottom sides of the board. The difference is whether the drilled holes are electroplated with copper to electrically connect both layers.
Plated Through-Hole boards have holes drilled and electroplated with copper, creating an electrical connection between the top and bottom copper layers. Components with through-hole leads are soldered into these plated holes, and vias route signals between layers.
Non-Plated Through-Hole boards have copper on both sides but the drilled holes are not electroplated. The two copper layers are not electrically connected through the board. Used when both sides carry only surface-mount components with no need for inter-layer connections through holes.

About the Service
Double sided PCBs are the most widely used board type in industrial electronics. With copper traces on both sides of the substrate, they offer significantly higher component density than single sided boards while keeping manufacturing costs well below multilayer alternatives.
We manufacture double sided boards on high-grade FR-4 with Tg 150 °C and Tg 170 °C options — the thermal performance choices that matter when your board operates near heat sources or in high-ambient environments.

Applications
Double sided PCBs hit the sweet spot between cost, density, and capability — the default choice for most industrial and commercial electronics.
PLCs, motor drives, HMI panels, relay control boards — applications requiring reliable through-hole and SMD component density beyond single sided capability.
Switch-mode power supplies, UPS inverters, battery management systems, and solar charge controllers benefit from two-sided routing with dedicated power and return planes.
GSM/GPRS modems, Ethernet switches, RS-485 converters, and IoT gateway boards where moderate signal density requires two-sided routing.
Measurement devices, data loggers, oscilloscope front ends, and medical monitoring equipment with mixed through-hole and SMD components.
Dimmer controllers, DALI/0-10V interface boards, and high-current LED driver circuits where power routing requires both sides.
ECU sub-boards, body control modules, sensor interfaces, and in-vehicle infotainment support boards manufactured on Tg 170°C FR-4 for high-temperature under-hood environments.
